The process is where we talk to the client, and discover something that they have, knowledge or skill or a passion that they can leverage.
Finding the Thing
Brainstorm different areas of interest, interesting products, or new trends.
We do research into the market, crunch the numbers, study the trends, look for easy wins, number of visitors and decide on a topic for the site.
Then we go through the process of coming up with a name … blah blah co … and establishing the brand identity.
Start building the website, key articles, outreach, helpfulness, testing products, and email marketing all the different aspects of building a business.
The exact steps to how we do it are totally based/dependent on the type of site/niche it is.
So there is no precise process. Everyone’s circumstances require slight modification. We can show you how here.
Studying the Market
“The lean start-up” is a great book about testing, improving and continuing iteration and the continuous feedback loop. The continuous loop of trial and improvement. We show you how this process is achieved.
We point out the kinds of products we are looking for. Like electronic or digitally delivered products, or ones that can be drop shipped or services that can be outsourced.
Sometimes even physical product if a product can be warehoused and fulfilled by a 3 party. We look at other services that can be provided.
All this process we have managed to turn into a course. If you’re interested you can get our training here.
Should I Start a Site?
For you, the question is How? and What’s involved? This paragraph sums it all up.
“If the subject matter was something you have either a strong or passionate interest about, that intersects with a skill you have or one you’re willing to acquire, which has a good chance of producing income, then sure, no problem.”
A strong passion or desire is what keeps you going when everyone else wants to quit. Because this stuff is not easy!
Yes, It’s Hard! If it was easy everybody would be doing it.
Here are a few principles to keep in mind…
- Is your site (thing) providing a need?
- Is It scalable?
- Is it hard to get into? (barrier to entry)
- Does the setup require a process?
